From crappy American cars in the Malaise Era to modern posh luxo saloons, the hood ornament has long been a symbol of upper-class motoring, although in some cases that ‘upper-class’ may have been pretty low. Anyways, let’s look at all the hood ornaments in history today, whether fancy or crappy!

Among modern cars, it’s hard to beat this one:

I particularly like how the symbol creates a sort of crosshair for aiming the car. I wish they would come back into style; they’re the only completely pointless artistic flourish I am at complete peace with on cars.
